Kentucky baseball defeats Oregon State to advance to first ever College World Series

UK baseball defeated Oregon State 3-2 overnight

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky is headed to the College World Series in Omaha for the first time in program history. UK baseball defeated Oregon 3-2 overnight in Game 2 of the Lexington Super Regional in front of a record more than 7,500 fans at Kentucky Proud Park. The game started at 9 p.m. Sunday night and ended around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

UK baseball also defeated Oregon State 10-0 on Saturday in Game 1 of the Super Regional.

Kentucky joins Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Virginia who have already punch their tickets to the CWS.

The College World Series begins on Thursday, June 14th and the bracket will be released later today following the Georgia and North Carolina State game.
