Kentucky American Water announces 2018 Firefighting Support Grant recipients
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky American Water has awarded grants totaling $10,000 to 20 Kentucky fire and rescue organizations in support for the departments’ year-round efforts to protect the communities they serve.
The donations are part of the company’s annual Firefighting Support Grant program, which the company initiated in 2011.
This year’s donations bring the total amount of funds provided through this program since its inception to $65,658. The maximum grant per organization is $500.
The following organizations will each receive a grant in 2018 to purchase the item(s) listed:

Bourbon County Fire Department Training materials
City of North Middletown Fire Department Digital radio
Clark County Fire Department Voltage detector
Climax Volunteer Fire Department Brush fire equipment
Franklin County Fire Department Communications equipment
Grand Paws Search Dog Team Computer
Harrison County Fire Protection District Radios
Hutchison Station Volunteer Fire Department Repair and pump test engines
Jessamine County Fire District Technical rope rescue equipment
Jonesville Fire Department Brush truck equipment
Lexington Fire Department Fire resistant hoods
Millersburg Fire and Rescue Department Drop tank
Monterey Volunteer Fire Department Hoods and gloves
Nicholasville Fire Department Smoke detectors
Owen County EMS AED wall cabinets
