Kenny McPeek picks up first Breeders’ Cup win with Thorpedo Anna

DEL MAR, CA. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington’s Kenny McPeek earned his first Breeders’ Cup win with Kentucky Oaks winner Thorpedo Anna in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff on Saturday.

Thorpedo Anna won the $2 million Distaff by 2 1/2 lengths, and finished the 1 1/8 mile race in 1:49.10 under jockey Brian Hernandez Jr.

Thorpedo Anna was the 2-5 favorite, and she paid $2.80 to win; the second-shortest win payout in Breeders’ Cup history.
