Keep Kentucky Kids Safe campaign

The Keep Kentucky Kids Safe initiative is turning to billboards to amp up the educational campaign about the dangers of prescription drug abuse in the state, in particular among teenagers.

Kentucky’s Attorney General, Jack Conway, stood below one of the 13 billboards Thursday to announce the effort.  The outdoor advertisements will be scattered across the state.  Lamar Advertising is donating the space while grant money was used to design the message.

Conway and two mothers who lost their daughters to drug overdoses are pictured on the billboard.  When ABC 36 News asked the two term AG why his picture is on the billboard Conway said because it has been “one of my signature issues.”
