Keeneland hosts a Kentucky Derby watch party

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – People all across the country were celebrating the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

Most of the action happens at Churchill Downs in Louisville, but Keeneland had a party of its own.

Keeneland reports that around eleven thousand fans came to Keeneland to watch the derby this year.

Visitors were able to listen to live music, watch the races, and make bets.

“We love Keeneland, we love the atmosphere, we love everything about the derby,” said Gary Mcintosh, Visitor.

One of the most popular events at Keeneland was making bets.

Some people had a strategy for making their bets and others left it up to fate.

“We wing it. We go off the names, we like the names,” said Tom and Annie Goeke.

Whether you won or lost, many people said the experience at Keeneland was worth it.
