Keeneland hosts Belmont party on Saturday
Admission and parking at Keeneland are free on Saturday. Gates open at 9 a.m. ET. Grandstand mutuel windows open at 11:05 a.m. Post time for Belmont’s first race is 11:35 a.m. with the Belmont Stakes set to run at approximately 6:50 p.m.
Fans can register at the Wagering Central tent in Keeneland’s Paddock for the prizes. The drawing for the $500 win bet will take place at 5 p.m. and the winner must be present to claim their prize.
Keeneland will simulcast the entire Belmont race card on its infield video board and televisions throughout the track.
Advance wagering on the Belmont Day card will be available at Grandstand mutuel windows on Friday, June 5, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Drive-thru mutuel windows will be open Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until Belmont post time.
The Belmont is the final race in the $1 million-guaranteed Pick Six that begins with the sixth race (post time 2:34 p.m.) and the $1.5 million-guaranteed Pick Four starting with race eight (post time 4 p.m.). The loaded race card features nine graded stakes, six of which are Grade 1 races: Acorn (G1), Longines Just A Game (G1), Knob Creek Manhattan (G1), Metropolitan (G1), Ogden Phipps (G1) and Belmont.
Concessions and full-service bars will be open in the Grandstand. In honor of the Belmont, a New York-style menu will include Manhattan clam chowder, Italian meatball sandwich and New York cheesecake, as well as the “Belmont Breeze,” the official drink of the Belmont. Fans may bring their own food (excluding alcohol) and picnic items such as blankets and lawn chairs to the Paddock and Walking Ring. Tents, canopies, lawn umbrellas, grills and glass are not permitted inside the gates.
Tickets for the Equestrian Room are $5 prepaid, with a $10 minimum food and drink purchase. The Blue Grass Room will offer a buffet of hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecue chicken for $16.95. Reservations for each room may be made online here by calling 859 288-4213.
