KEA encourages teachers to return to classrooms

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- As spring break comes to an end in Fayette County and other school districts, the Kentucky Education Association is calling on teachers to return to the classroom.

KEA says it wants educators to continue advocating, but at home by speaking directly to elected senators and representatives while they’re in their home districts.

It’s illegal for teachers to strike in Kentucky, but many have called off sick in the last two weeks, shutting down districts as a way to protest the pension bill lawmakers passed at the end of last month.
