KDOE council to meet virtually March 16

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Department of Education’s School Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability Council (SCAAC) will meet on March 16 at 9 A.M.

SCAAC is comprised of 11 voting members and one non-voting member. All members are appointed by the governor.

The council was created to study, audit, review and make recommendations concerning Kentucky’s system of academic standards, assessing learning, identifying academic competencies and deficiencies of students, holding schools accountable for learning, and assisting schools to improve their performance.

Pursuant to Executive Order 2020-243 and a memorandum issued by the Finance and Administration Cabinet dated March 16, 2020, and in an effort to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the SCAAC will meet via video teleconference.
