Juvenile killed in I-75 crash in Corbin
UPDATE: The Kentucky State Police says the fatality was a 10-year old girl, who was riding on a moped with 31-year-old Darius L. Wade of Lexington. According to KSP, an SUV, driven by Michael J. Stout of Indiana hit the moped, as both vehicles were traveling north on I-75, around the 26 mile marker.

CORBIN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A tragic motor vehicle collision on I-75 North at mile marker 26 resulted in the death of a juvenile and serious injuries to another individual late Sunday night. The Corbin Police Department says it responded to the scene around 11 PM on August 4, 2024.
According to the investigation, both individuals involved in the collision sustained serious injuries and were taken from the scene for medical treatment. Unfortunately, the juvenile later succumbed to their injuries.
The Kentucky State Police Post 11 has been contacted to assist in accident reconstruction and is the primary agency continuing the investigation into the collision.
According to the Corbin Police Department, several agencies provided assistance at the scene, including the Corbin Fire Department, Whitley County EMS, Oakgrove/Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department, Whitley County Emergency Management, PHI Air Medical, Air Evac Life Team, and the Kentucky State Highway Department.
