Junior Fire Chief named in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fayette County has a new Junior Fire Chief.

On Thursday, 10-year-old Ryan Frisby received his badge at a ceremony in Lexington.

Frisby is a 5th  grader at Liberty Elementary School.

He says he’s been interested in fire prevention for years.

Part of his duties include appearances on television during fire prevention week, as well as touring the county to help teach about fire safety, with a focus on smoke alarms.

The new Junior Fire Chief will be helping to spread the message about fire safety as ambassador for the Lexington Fire Department until October 2017.
