Judges announcing docket for veterans in Boyd

CATLETTSBURG, Ky. (AP) — Judges in Boyd County are taking steps to connect veterans with help they may need in northeastern Kentucky.

Boyd County Circuit Judges C. David Hagerman and George W. Davis plan to announce Friday a docket for veterans.

Davis says substance abuse or mental health issues that veterans face may contribute to run-ins with the law, and such a docket will enable the judicial system to bring veterans in need together with services that can help them.

Davis says specialists from the Veterans Justice Outreach Program will serve as a bridge between veterans and the Veterans Administration.

Hagerman and Davis planned to announce the program Friday in Catlettsburg.
