Judge rules Georgetown murder suspect not competent to stand trial
SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man accused of beating his caretaker to death is not competent to stand trial, according to a judge.
Hunter Moore appeared in court on Wednesday for a competency hearing.
Moore is charged with the murder of 53-year-old Denise Hamilton. Hamilton was beaten to death with a baseball bat last year at a home she shared with Moore in Georgetown.
According to police, Moore says God told him to take the baseball bat and beat the demon out of Hamilton.
On Wednesday, a judge ruled Moore will stay in the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center for 60 days for treatment and evaluation.
A status hearing has been set for October 4.
