Jessamine Creek Gorge hikers must begin making reservations
JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Beginning immediately, the Jessamine County Fiscal Court now requires visitors of the Jessamine Creek Gorge Preserve to make reservations on www.jessamineco.com before their hike. This policy has been put into place to preserve and protect the gorge for future generations.
As owners and operators of the Preserve property, JCFC is dedicated to the preservation and protection of both the property and the multiple federally and state listed threatened and endangered species inhabiting the area.
In recent years, Jessamine Creek Gorge Preserve, a 268-acre tract recognized as one of the most important sites for conservation within the Kentucky River Palisades, has experienced a tremendous increase in visitors; the required reservation policy has been enacted in response to that increase.
