Avoid breaking your air conditioning unit with these simple tips
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWSNOW) — Your air conditioner is probably working overtime to keep up with the rising temperatures; it’s important to know how you can help keep it cool inside your home.
Owner of Synergy Home, Jamie Clark, says his employees have been working overtime to keep up with dying air conditioners all across the city.
He wants to remind people of the things you can do to avoid having to give them a call to come fix your A/C unit.
For example, do not program your thermostat. Doing this could cause your air conditioning to work twice as hard to get temperatures back down to where they were before.
“Keep that outdoor unit clean, keep the drapes closed, don’t cook this time of year inside if you can avoid it, if you can, grill outside,” Clark said. “If you’re going to do your laundry, you’re better to do it at night when the suns not out.”
