Jalen Farmer declares for 2026 NFL Draft
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky offensive lineman Jalen Farmer has declared for the NFL Draft, choosing to forgo his remaining year of eligibility. Farmer transferred to Kentucky after two seasons at Florida and quickly became a key part of the Wildcats’ “Big Blue Wall.”
Farmer announced in a social media post:
“My college football journey has been shaped by faith, growth, and the people who believed in me at every step. I’m thankful for each chapter and the lessons that came with it. To the University of Florida, thank you for giving me my start at this level. I’m grateful for the opportunity to compete in Gainesville and for the coaches and teammates who pushed me to raise my standard. Coach Napier, thank you for your leadership and belief during an important stage of my development. The foundation built there will always be a part of me.
To the University of Kentucky, thank you for welcoming me and allowing me to continue chasing my goals. Wearing Kentucky across my chest and competing for Big Blue Nation has been an honor. Coach Stoops, thank you for your trust, consistency, and commitment to helping me grow both as a player and as a person. I’m also thankful for the entire coaching staff, support staff, and my teammates for the work, unity, and memories we built together. To all the coaches, trainers, academic staff, and support personnel at both programs, thank you for the guidance, structure, and support on and off the field. Most importantly, to my family, thank you for the sacrifices, prayers, and unwavering support through every transition and challenge. None of this would be possible without you. With much appreciation for everything that has brought me to this point and excitement for what’s ahead, I am declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.”
His departure leaves a major hole for Head Coach Will Stein to fill along the offensive line.
