UPDATE: Paperwork mix-up clears inmate accused of failing to return

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Detention Center says that a report of an inmate who had failed to return from a furlough, was the result of a paperwork mix-up.

On Tuesday, the detention center said that inmate Isaac Thomas Moody was supposed to return to the jail after being let out September 27 on a court-ordered pass.

Wednesday, the facility sent out a correction, saying that Moody had an extension on his furlough pass until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14.

The jail had issued a warrant for escape, but say that the charge has now been dropped.

According to the detention center, the jail did not have a copy of the court order that extended the furlough.
