Jacobson Park drowning victim identified
UPDATE:
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the man, whose body was recovered from a lake at Jacobson Park in Lexington.
According to a release, Nicholas Hunter Davis, 28, of Lexington, is the victim of an accidental drowning Sunday (4/14).
The Coroner lists the time of death as 11:07 p.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The search continues for a kayaker at the lake at Jacobson Park.
Officials telling us, that kayaker flipped and went under the water.
A beautiful day at the lake in Jacobson Park, ends Sunday night in tragedy.
“We go up like what’s happening,” said Noor Zohary. “Someone in a kayak, there were two people in a kayak, they flipped over and one of them was trying to save the other one.”
The Lexington Fire Department says just after five p.m. Sunday, crews were called for a kayaker who went under the water.
LFD technical rescue and dive teams on the scene, searching for a male victim.
Witnesses telling ABC 36 what they heard and saw.
“And I just started hearing help, help,” said Owen Wright. “Then I look over and I see there was a dude drowning. And then this other dude decided to hop in, I don’t know how he did that. But he hopped in the lake and he was going down to go save him.”
One witness speaking about how heart breaking a tragedy like this is.
“I got to see his body before I go anywhere,” said Michael Wright. “I was in the Marine Corp, we don’t leave people. No we don’t leave people. I saw him go down and it breaks my heart that I couldn’t get out there to help him.”
Rescue teams were unable retrieve the missing kayaker and say they will continue first thing Monday morning.
