Jackson Street reopens in Winchester after months of construction
WINCHESTER, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — After months of roadwork, Jackson Street in Winchester is officially back open to drivers.
City officials and members of the community gathered Monday morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the long-anticipated infrastructure project. Local leaders celebrated the improved roadway and welcomed drivers back to the newly upgraded street.
“This road’s more than just infrastructure. It’s a vital connection for families, for school buses, for emergency vehicles, for local businesses, for neighbors,” said Winchester Mayor JoEllen Reed. “It’s a very vital line through here for this community.”
The project is part of Winchester’s broader effort to improve transportation access and safety. Jackson Street is now open to all traffic.
