It’s been a while

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – 1977.  That’s the last time Kentucky was 2-0 in SEC play on the gridiron.

With Florida in town this Saturday and the Cats as just 3-point underdogs, it could be another historic day for Mark Stoops and company.

Beating South Carolina was necessary. It’s a huge jolt for the program.

For the players on the plane ride back…it felt great…to finally be a winner on the trip back home.

It hadn’t happened for even the eldest Wildcat on the roster until this weekend.

Think about that.  Rich Brooks was the head coach the last time UK won a true road game.  That down in Athens back in 2009 over Georgia.

So, coach Stoops, just how big was this past Saturday for the program and how much better was it to have won a close one than win in a romp?

Hear from Mark Stoops in the video.
