“It’s about winning.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Nick Richards is averaging 17 minutes per game; scoring 7 points per outing and snagging 5.5 rebounds…plus a block and change.

That’s usually not bad for a freshman.  His lone superstar game?  In the blowout of Fort Wayne…25 points, 15 rebounds.

Since then, it’s been limited playing time and limited production.

Even at Vanderbilt, Coach Cal was thinking “This is it.  This is the game we go to the post.”

Richards is thinking too much.  He’s doubting himself instead of just playing.

UK associate head coach Kenny Payne says it’s about instincts.  Once Richards gets back to those?  He’ll be fine.

So by being the aggressor, what instincts will that bring forth?

Hear from Cal and Payne in the video.
