Iowa democrats announce Beshear as keynote speaker

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Governor Andy Beshear may be planning a trip to Iowa soon. The Iowa Democratic Party announced on social media Saturday that Beshear will be the keynote speaker for its annual Liberty and Justice Celebration in July. The event is scheduled for July 27th at the Iowa Events Center.

Traditionally, the Iowa caucuses play a significant role for candidates running for president. This announcement has sparked speculation about Beshear’s future political ambitions.

According to WKMS from Murray State, when asked about a possible presidential run in 2028, Beshear responded, “I’m supporting President Biden here in 2024, and that’s the next election. 2028 is a long way away.”
