Investigation underway after person shot in eye

CAWOOD, Ky. (WTVQ)- State Police say they are investigating a shooting where someone was shot in the eye in the parking lot of an elementary school in Harlan County.

State Police say this was not a school related incident. They say several people were in the parking lot of Cawood Elementary when several shots were fired with one person being hit in the eye.

Troopers say when they arrived, everyone has left the area. They say that a short time later, the person who had been shot in the eye showed up at the hospital.

KSP says no one is in custody at the time.
