Investigation underway after Mercer County house fire destroys home

MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – An investigation is underway after a weekend house fire destroyed a home in Mercer County.

According to the Mercer County Fire Department, crews responded Saturday night to a home on Sunrise Shores.

Firefighters say the house was already heavily engulfed in flames by the time they arrived at the scene.

Officials say everyone inside the home was able to get out safely. It is not yet known if anyone was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
