Intermittent lane closures set for U.S. 119 in Harlan County

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Expect intermittent lane closures on U.S. 119 in Harlan County from now until October 1, 2019, according to the state.

One, 12-foot lane will remain open while expansion joint repairs and preventative maintenance operations are completed on each of the 25 bridges along U.S. 119, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The bridges are located at the following milepoints: 17.629, 18.842, 21.827, 22.416, 23.491, 23.704, 25.303, 25.482, 27.217, 27.654, 28.394, 28.769, 29.751, 31.152, 31.892, 33.325, 33.725, 34.846, 35.611, 37.269, 37.521, 37.801, 38.089, 38.439, and 39.068.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expected long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

 The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
