Inmate walks away from Blackburn facility

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- An inmate has escaped from the Blackburn Correctional Complex in Lexington.

The Department of Corrections says Charles Blanton walked away from the minimum security prison around 9:15 Sunday evening.

Blanton was serving a 16-year sentence for meth convictions out of Laurel County. The D.O.C. says Blanton would’ve been eligible for parole in December 2015. He’s 45-year-old, around 6′ tall with brown hair and blue eyes.
