Inmate walks away from Blackburn, captured within an hour

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An inmate’s taste of freedom lasted less than an hour Wednesday morning.

Officials at Blackburn Correctional Complex say Christopher Dixon was discovered missing just after 8:30 a.m.  A report from the facility say he walked away from the Complex.

Kentucky State police, however, apprehended Dixon in Lexington at around 9:25 a.m.

Dixon was serving a 15-year sentence for convictions out of Bell County including Manufacturing of Methamphetamine 1st offense. He would have been eligible for parole in September 2018.
