Inmate death leads to investigation in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Officials say an inmate was found unresponsive and taken to the hospital where she later died.

Community Corrections staff say 22-year-old Bridgette Mae Hall was provided medical services at the jail, then taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Lexington Police and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office are investigating the cause and manner of her death. Such an investigation is normal in the case of an in-custody death. The jail will conduct an internal investigation.

Hall was in jail awaiting trial for charges of driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless driving.
