Injury accident next door to Lexington’s main fire station

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – It didn’t take Lexington firefighters long to respond to an injury accident Sunday afternoon because it happened just feet away from the city’s main fire station.

Lexington Police say a driver ran a red light at the corner of M.L. King, Junior Boulevard and Third Street and collided with another vehicle shortly after 2:00 p.m.

Investigators say the collision caused one of the vehicles to flip.  The driver of that car was taken to the hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection was temporarily closed while vehicle fluids and debris were cleaned-up.
