Increased police presence expected Thursday at UK campus for training exercise
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The University of Kentucky Police Department is advising the public about a law enforcement training exercise planned on campus Thursday.
According to a media advisory from UKPD, the exercise will take place during business hours on July 17 at 620 South Broadway in Lexington.
The department says the training is not open to the media or public, but officials want the community to know there is no risk to the public despite an increased police presence in the area.
UKPD says the exercise will give officers and participating agencies a chance to practice and improve their tactical response readiness in the event of an emergency in Lexington.
