LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) -Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) is addressing an incident that occurred at Lafayette High School, where a student was pepper-sprayed.
FCPS officers responded Wednesday afternoon to a disturbance in one of the classrooms. The classroom was cleared to ensure the safety of uninvolved students.
According to the school, the student who initiated the incident became increasingly combative with officers. After refusing to cooperate, the student was pepper-sprayed.
An ambulance was called as a precaution to ensure the student’s well-being. All individuals affected by the pepper spray were evaluated and treated on-site.
