Inaugural Rowan Co. Pride Fest happening Saturday

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – One year after Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples in defiance of a federal order, the Rowan County Rights Coalition will be hosting the inaugural Rowan County Pride Festival.

The festival will be held Saturday, August 27 from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Don Greenhill City Park in Morehead, and will feature a free community picnic, as well as guest speakers, Chris Hartman from the Fairness Campaign and activist Tom Morgan, and live music.  The event will also include a rural LGBTQ forum featuring Bernadette Barton, Rachel Garinger, Tuesday Meadows, and Savannah Sipple as presenters.
