In separate cases, men charged with choking, assaulting pregnant woman
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A verbal argument turns violent, landing one man in jail on charges he tried to choke another man.
And in an unrelated case, a man is charged with assaulting a pregnant woman.
According to Laurel County Sheriff’ John Root, 23-year-old Daniel Pinckney, of London, is charged with charged with strangulation – first-degree, and assault – 4th degree in connection with an incident just before 9 p.m. Friday.
The arrest occurred off York Shire Estates approximately two miles southwest of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint. Upon arrival, deputies learned that apparently a verbal argument had escalated to a physical assault where Pinckney allegedly assaulted another man by punching the victim and grabbing the victim around his throat, slamming his head into the wall in the hallway, Root said.
Deputies noted a hole in the drywall, according to the sheriff.
In the other case, 23-year-old Scott Cope, of London, is charged with assault – 4th degree,

and wanton endangerment – first-degree.
The arrest occurred off Lilliane Lane, approximately four miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a dispute. Upon arrival, deputies learned a man allegedly would not allow a woman to leave and had allegedly thrown her onto the bed and grabbed her just below her chin. Deputies noted that the female victim was apparently 5 months pregnant, the sheriff said.
