Multiple collisions briefly shut down I-64 East near Midway

MIDWAY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say the weather may be at fault in an accident on I-64 East near the Midway exit.

Troopers say it started when a car went off the road into a cable barrier, stopping traffic.  Then a truck, not realizing traffic had stopped, went off the road, according to officers.  Police say this set up a follow-up collision when a trailer that had stopped for the truck was hit from behind by another car.

Officers say the person in that car was injured and taken to the hospital.

Eastbound lanes of the interstate were shut down for a short time while the scene was cleared.
