Hyster-Yale breaks ground on $25.7 million expansion

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Forklift manufacturer Hyster-Yale recently broke ground on the 160,000-square-foot expansion of the plant on Menelaus Road in Berea, according to press release from the Governor’s Office.

Hyster-Yale came to Berea in 1973 and started with an annual production of around 5,000 forklifts being made, according to press release. The plant shipped over 100,000 forklifts worldwide in 2018.

Berea Mayor Bruce Fraley said he “hopes this is the start of continued investment for the company in Berea,” in press release. 

Hyster-Yale now has employees from 20 different counties around Kentucky working in their plant making them a regional employer, according to press release.
