Husband and Wife Charged with Drug Trafficking

On Wednesday, Madison County deputies said they made a stop at Hagar Drive to serve an arrest warrant to a man who had escaped custody.

They reportedly found over 200 methadone pills and more than 20 pills of oxycodone, along with $6,726 in cash and a gun when they entered the apartment.

45-year-old George Richardson and his wife, Paula, 40, were taken into custody and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

George was also charged with escape and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The husband and wife were booked into the Madison County Detention Center.
