Hundred of motorcycle riders rolling through Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Hundreds of motorcycle riders will be on the roads in Kentucky Wednesday to honor those Americans considered missing in action.

Riders with Rolling Thunder Run for the Wall start their ride in early to mid-May and travel cross country to raise awareness for soldiers who lost their lives in wars or are still missing and captured.

They start on the West coast and pick up members along the way while stopping at various Veteran’s hospitals, memorials and other venues before arriving in Washington, D.C. on Memorial Day Weekend.

One stop they make each year is at the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Frankfort. The riders are scheduled to arrive at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday May 23.

The riders will then travel to Mt. Sterling for lunch and fuel at around 1:30 p.m.

The community is encouraged to bring flags and cheer the riders as they arrive in Mt. Sterling then depart at approximately 3 p.m. from the Clay Community Center.
