Human skull discovered in Clay Co.

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – State police in London say they received a call about 6:45 p.m. Monday from workers with the U.S. Division of Forestry, who say they found skeletal remains while fighting a forest fire in Clay Co.

Detectives who went to the scene say they discovered a partial human skull close to a cemetery.  Investigators say the skull may have been there for years.

Detectives continue to investigate, while the remains have been sent to Frankfort to be examined by a forensic pathologist.
