Human remains discovered in the Kentucky River identified
FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Human remains found at the bottom of the Kentucky River 45 years ago have finally been identified, according to the Lexington Fire Department. The remains were initially discovered during a dive team training exercise.
DNA testing recently helped connect the remains to a family in Virginia. On Wednesday, the Lexington Fire Department announced that the district chief, along with the Fayette County Coroner, would be escorting the remains to Virginia for a burial service and final resting place with the family.
