House fire kills 2 in Wayne County

MONTICELLO, Ky. (WTVQ)- An early-morning fire in Wayne County has left two people dead.

Kentucky State Police say the fire started at a home on East HWY 90 in Monticello.

The Monticello Fire Department was called to the scene just before 3 a.m. Tuesday and discovered two bodies after they put out the fire.

The victims have not been identified.

The bodies are being taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where autopsies will be performed, according to police.

An arson investigator was called to the scene.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
