Horse found severely emaciated on road to recovery

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A horse found severely malnourished in Perry County is on the move.

The Kentucky Equine Humane Center says Klaire, the Tennessee Walking Horse, will head to rehab at the center Wednesday once she is released from an equine hospital in Verailles.

Klaire was one of six taken in from an animal neglect case in September.

The other five are at the Kentucky Equine Humane Center

The center says Klaire was so weak, she was unable to stand and, for weeks, had to be lifted by a sling.

They say Klaire’s future is still uncertain, but that they are optimistic about her recovery.

Organizers are holding a fundraiser for the horses on October 26 at the Thoroughbred Center Pavilion on Paris Pike. For more information, click here.
