Horse euthanized after accident on Ironworks Pike

Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) – A section of Iron Works Pike was closed Monday night following an accident involving a horse.

Lexington police say a pickup truck hit a horse that was running loose on Iron Works Pike near Russell Cave road.

Police say the horse ended up with a broken leg and eventually had to be euthanized.  They are not sure why the horse was on the road.
