Hopkinsville police officer charged with misconduct

Hopkinsville, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Hopkinsville police officer has been charged with official misconduct after an investigation by Kentucky State Police.

State police say in September, its Special Investigations Branch received a complaint from executives with the Hopkinsville Police Department.

The complaint alleged that 34-year-old Daniel Gray, a patrol officer for Hopkinsville Police Department, had engaged in official misconduct with a Hopkinsville citizen while on duty.

After a two-month investigation, KSP detectives determined that there was probable cause to arrest Gray, a nine-year veteran of the Hopkinsville Police Department.

On Monday, state police say an arrest warrant was issued for Gray.

Investigators did not go into detail about the official misconduct complaint.

Gray was booked into the Christian County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police, Special Investigations Branch is continuing to investigate.
