Hope not heroin rally educating public about recovery
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Heroin abuse has become an epidemic in the nation and Kentuckians are also experiencing the drug’s impact.
On Saturday, The Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women and Renew Recovery hosted the ‘hope not Heroine Rally’.
Hundreds of supporters showed up at the Madison County Courthouse for the free event. Sponsors told ABC 36 their goal is to educate and support those who are impacted by the drug.
At least 20 booths were available with information about addiction and recovery, support groups, and other non-profit groups in the Richmond area.
Those who have lossed loved ones to heroin also had the opportunity to honor them with a candlelight vigil. The rally coincides with national recovery month.
