Hope Center announces expansion to women’s recovery center
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Hope Center announces an expansion to their Ball-Quantrell Jones Recovery Center for Women.
It was a much needed expansion that increased capacity from 75 beds to 105.
The expansion also includes a new cafeteria and more meeting space, which is a significant factor in long-term recovery.
The executive director Cecil Dunn says that the expansion comes at a crucial time with the drug epidemic being so severe.
The Women’s Recovery program and Men’s Recovery program are both based on the same peer-driven and professionally supervised model, but the women’s program also includes gender specific features and a health clinic.
Data from the recovery programs show than 95 percent of those who participate in the program remain abstinent from drugs and alcohol for a year after entering the program and 71 percent continue that abstinence one year after completing the program.
A good portion of those who relapse use resources and tools they learned from being in the program to help them get back on track.
