Honoring soldiers who died serving our country
KENTUCKY (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Memorial Day, also known as Decoration Day, honors soldiers who died in war while serving the country. Although several towns claim to have started the tradition, Congress credits Waterloo, New York, with its origins.
Numerous events are planned across the state to honor the soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. These events provide an opportunity for communities to come together and pay tribute to the fallen heroes.
