‘Honoring Black Stories’ hosts second annual walk
MIDWAY, Ky. (WTVQ) – ‘Honoring Black Stories’ will have its 2nd annual Remembrance Walk this Saturday, July 31 in Midway, Ky.
The walk remembers the destruction of the Colored School of Midway in 1868.
The walk will start at Midway’s City Hall at 12 p.m., and continue on to Gratz Street Professor Christy Way, and some other areas before concluding at City Hall.
Event speakers from the community include Rev. Dr. Heather McColl of Midway Christian Church and Rev. William Bush, descendant of both Alexander Campbell and Samuel Buckner.
Refreshments will be served after the service.
This event is free to the public but participants are asked to follow CDC COVID guidelines.
