Homicide investigation underway in Rowan County

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police and the Rowan County Coroner are investigating a homicide on Christmas Eve in Rowan County.

Officials say they received a call at 5:27 p.m. that said a man had been shot in the 6000 block of Christy Creek Road.

Various law enforcement officials including the fire department responded to the scene.

The Rowan County Coroner pronounced a 39-year-old man dead in a residence driveway. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing.
