Homicide Investigation Underway In Lexington

The Fayette County Coroner is investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday morning.

Police said they received a call around 10 a.m. for a a man that had been shot on Augusta Court.

 Officials said a man was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said he is investigating this as a homicide after a person was transported to UK Medical Center.

Police told ABC 36 News that detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses and gathering information.

Lexington Police’s Forensic Services Unit was also on the scene. Police officials said they planned to bring the Mobile Crime Lab to the scene.
