Home décor retailer ‘At Home’ files for bankruptcy; Hamburg store not on closure list

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Popular home goods retailer At Home has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing increased tariffs and a slowdown in consumer spending.

The Dallas-based company announced it has reached a deal with its lenders that will eliminate nearly all of its approximately $2 billion in debt. The agreement also provides new funding to keep most of its 260 stores open during the bankruptcy process.

At Home operates locations in 40 states, including Kentucky. The Lexington store in Hamburg is currently not on the list of planned closures.

The company has not released a full list of which locations may shut down, but officials say some stores could close as restructuring continues.
