Home damaged, dog rescued in Clay County house fire

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A home was damaged, and a dog was rescued after an early morning fire in Manchester on Tuesday.

According to the fire department, the fire broke out just before 4 a.m. in the back corner of the home. Crews arriving at the scene found a dog abandoned inside the house and were able to rescue it safely.

Firefighters say they spent hours battling the flames, but no injuries have been reported.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
